Thermostat keeps disconnecting since last app update

I’ve been using Sensi thermostats for several years now. Have never had a bad experience with them. As long as your Wi-Fi network is stable, you can control your HVAC system from pretty much anywhere. I love being able to pre-cool the house. When I am returning from a trip, or if my trip gets extended, know that I can manage the temperatures in the house from anywhere in the world. They are dependable, and expensive, and pack a great value for the price. Cannot recommend them enough.

I absolutely am so so so glad I had Sensi installed. Easy to control temp anywhere from the app.

I’m on my second house with a Sensi Touch thermostat, never had a problem until a few months back when I got a new iPad. I’ve never been able to connect to the thermostat from that new iPad and recently lost the ability from my older iPad, coincidentally when it updated to the Copeland branding. My brother has a non-touch Sensi and over the weekend lost the ability to connect. Our thermostats work, but only at the wall. And I can’t program the unit from the wall, so I just set a temperature and leave it, like twenty years ago.

This software is non-intuitive and very difficult to use. It also has issues integrating into HomeKit device is not found etc. and it keeps wanting you to buy something.

This thermostat is the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. It doesn’t hold the temperature and when you press the hold button, it tells you that you’re not able to adjust the temperature or something. I don’t know it doesn’t make sense. The entire thing is just nonsensical. I hate it. I’m going back to Honeywell.

Works and maintains temperature like magic. I have 2 of them on my 2 story house

Just started using it and I like it

I don't know what's going on lately with this app, but I have the latest version AND I have iOS 18, yet every time I go to open the app now, it just sits there loading and never loads. I then force-quit the app and it makes me re-login.

This app worked for a long time without any issues. It looks like the company went through an acquisition and the app is changed. I cannot manage to get logged in. Reset password says my email is invalid. Creating a new account says I already have one. Logging in says network error. Finding support seems impossible. I would not recommend this thermostat with the current state of the app.

This is so complicated. I have to go to my laptop every time I try to set it. It is frustrating to say the least. I don’t even know if it actually works correctly.

Usually says offline

I am constantly having to reconnect the device. Everytime I want to adjust the thermostat from my phone, ESPECIALLY when I’m already in bed, the device is disconnected. Then you have to get out of bed and follow multiple steps between the app and the thermostat to reconnect. Should’ve gotten a Nest.

When you schedule the WiFi disconnect making you to remove the thermostat and the batteries to make it work

This app in the thermostat product worked great in the past. But in the past year, they’ve sold out to some other company that changed the app. It is no longer stable, I have to open it two or three times before it starts working. Basically the same story as everything these days. Something works great, they sell it and the new enterprise destroys it

This app is constantly unable to connect to Wi-Fi so I have to constantly walk downstairs just to change or fix the temperature and there’s no reason for this to be happening because my Wi-Fi shows to have full capacity and working in full effect

Other devices works well in the same area, have fresh batteries but still keeps dropping WiFi.

Keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi

Thermostat kicks the furnace on constantly, when we loose internet connection it is a pain to link the thermostat WiFi

Took way too long to do set up and it had been fine for over a year. It required a new complicated set up out of the blue. Followed instructions meticulously and it didn’t work after about ten tries. It required pass codes that had to be entered each time. Then, it seems like it might be working as it uneffed itself. This was a waste of precious time. Will get a different brand when I get around to it. This is a ridiculous thermostat. It’s a time sucking machine.

If it worked reliably. What a buggy mess your app is

Constantly out of sync with the thermostat. Everything else “online” in my house works fine, except this app. Others have mentioned the same problems in recent reviews

I could monitor the house's climate and set the temperature before I even get there.

Terrible thermostat. Won’t reconnect to internet.

It’s ridiculous how much it’s “offline”. I have never have connectivity problems with anything else in my house but this thing is offline more times than not. I’m so fed up at this point and summer is just around the corner.

The app is easy and convenient to use in my short term rental!

Very difficult to program

Needs to: allow more flexible fan scheduling Since it has zip code level location and weather temps available, the Usage should chart the inside and outside temps for each day along with the set point targets. Those charts should show the 24 hours by hour or maybe even 15 minute slots and not just total for the entire day. Much easier to see how well it is doing what is asked and why. In a home multiple unit details should be visible. Most homes the HVAC units mix their air anyway so viewing them as a group makes more sense in that case. Most 2 story homes would have a unit up and one down and the updrafts and air current make managing them together important App hangs when Internet connection on the phones are lost and doesn’t recover well. Has to be restarted frequently for that and other refresh issues. Easy to use and navigate. Get a C wire hooked up if you want the smart thermostats to work. Power stealing was not very reliable. App should display ALL thermostat status information like whether or not it is in power stealing mode, when it was last connected, etc…. The backend has it so the app should show it. Waiting 30+ minutes for that sort of information on the phone is wasteful of both the consumers time and the support line staff. Save the support staff time for the things the app cannot show.

Has connectivity issues, I have to close the app and or change how it connects to the internet (WiFi vs Cellular data) to re-establish the connection. Scheduling is neat since there are numerous options to create custom scheduling by the season or for being away.

Will not let me lock the screen on the display to keep employees from changing the temp

I was recently disconnected from my Sensi Smart thermostat for an unknown reason. I didn’t disconnect it myself. I am having trouble reconnecting. Your directions don’t seem to be working and I don’t know what else to do. It shouldn’t be this complicated.

72+ year old Grandpa loves this T-Stat with APP !! Bonus; I did not have to have Grandson download, set-up and learn me up on how to use the SENSI T-Stat App!! Big Advantage to be able to monitor & control AC system from phone! No more fumbling around in dark with flashlight & magnifying glass trying to adjust T-Stat in early AM or late PM! Get yourself one of these pairs and Grandma will think your a genius again Too!!

Only works if you are on the same WiFi as your unit. So you could actually just get up and change the thermostat. Biggest waste of an app ever.

What is the point of the app if the company can’t make thermostats that work with modern WiFi routers.. get with the times.

Easy to use

My thermostat is connected to wifi and hooked up but will always say it’s offline while I’m trying to change the temp like I’ll be adjusting it then it will just say “no connection” its honestly easier to just get up and change it without the app tbh I won’t be getting another Sensi thermo in fact I will be avoiding them in the future

Easy to use

this is probably one of the best home systems I’ve ever purchased. It’s accurate, easy to use, has very few glitches. I believe I’m saving quite a bit of money on my utility bill as well. Good job Sensi!

I can see the status of the thermostat, and I can make changes in the app, but it doesn’t actually change anything on the thermostat. I can’t configure schedules, I can’t change modes, I can’t even change the temperature. When I close the app and reopen, all changes I made are gone.

Reliable stat that can be configured to handle all your comfort needs. So easy to monitor from your phone. Love this stat!

This is an amazing program, working through Alexa or your smart devices. At any time, if I’m too hot or too cold, I can use Alexa or any device to adjust the thermostat and be perfectly comfortable without needing to run through the house to reset the unit. Can carry on cooking or even sleeping.

My thermostat is always offline and I can never adjust it with the app

I’m always using Sensi when I’m upstairs during the night. I don’t have to walk down to adjust for thermostat for those cold mornings or when the AC gets to be too much. Love it!

My only complaint is it gets knocked off my Wi-Fi periodically and I’ve had my system check several times they say it’s the thermostat I have had it since 2014
